The News Review electronic archive comprises high-resolution scans of most newspapers prior to 2002 from their printed versions and ‘born digital’ PDFs from 2002 going forward. It is added to each week. Scans for the few missing paper copies were obtained from lower-quality electronic scans transferred to microfiche or microfilm and then rescanned for us, and are less likely to produce good results when searched. The newspaper acknowledges the contributions of the community, the city, the county, the University of Maryland and all the volunteers who helped in this venture which began in 2015 and took over two years to complete.
